Book Fair Information March 4, 2011
Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to give you a few heads up about this year’s Scholastic Book Fair. It is a carnival theme this year and we have set a goal to sell one thousand books. We are also participating in ONE for BOOKS where the classrooms will compete for a class party with Mr. Duerr hosting a movie with popcorn & sweet treats. Each child that brings in a dollar for this program gets a special ticket in a jar that will be counted at the end of the fair to see which class gets the party. ONE for BOOKS is a program that Scholastic matches for underprivileged schools. Whatever we take in, we get to keep, but they match it for another school in need, which is awesome! I have created at the Scholastic site a web page with all the basic information available and then another web page is posted by Scholastic to view segment videos that promote some of the books offered at this fair. See both listed below. All ages are featured, which is not the case with the CD that is being passed around. Please remember to come by early next week (Monday) to place your teacher wish list titles in the slots on display for you. Again, the library will be closed at least part of this Friday and all next week. Please have students check out books they will need for that time span. The fair hours Monday to Wednesday from 8 to 4 and Thursday and Friday 8 to 12. Any questions you may have just contact me anytime.
